FAQ | Central Texas Pipe Inspections

Question 1

What is a sewer camera inspection?

Accepted Answer

A sewer camera inspection involves inserting a professional-grade waterproof camera into your sewer line through a cleanout or access point. The camera transmits live video as it travels through the pipe, allowing us to see the interior condition of the line — identifying cracks, blockages, root intrusion, offset joints, bellies, and other defects. You receive a full video recording and written report of the findings.

Question 2

Does a standard home inspection cover the sewer line?

Accepted Answer

No — and this surprises a lot of buyers. Standard home inspections do not include sewer lines. A general home inspector will check visible plumbing fixtures, but they do not insert a camera into the sewer line or assess its condition underground. A dedicated sewer inspection is the only way to know what's actually happening beneath the surface.

Question 3

How long does a sewer inspection take?

Accepted Answer

Most residential sewer inspections take between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on the length of the line, accessibility, and whether any issues require additional investigation. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when you schedule.

Question 4

Do I need to be home during the inspection?

Accepted Answer

It's helpful but not always required. We do need access to the sewer cleanout, which is typically located outside the home or in a utility area. If you can't be present, we can often coordinate access with a real estate agent, property manager, or trusted contact.

Question 5

Will I receive a video of the inspection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every inspection includes a full video recording of the camera run through your sewer line. You'll have a permanent record of the pipe's condition that you can share with contractors, real estate agents, or keep for your own documentation.

Question 6

What does the written report include?

Accepted Answer

The written report documents the findings from the inspection — including the condition of the pipe, any defects or problem areas identified, their location within the line, and our assessment of severity. The report is written in plain language so you can understand it without a plumbing background.

Question 7

How soon will I receive my report?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, you'll receive your report the same day as the inspection. We understand that many of our clients are working against closing deadlines or need to make quick decisions, so we prioritize fast turnaround.

Question 8

Do you only do inspections, or can you make repairs too?

Accepted Answer

We do both. While our core service is sewer camera inspections, we also offer drain cleaning and clearing, and repair services when needed. If the inspection reveals a problem that requires repair, we'll provide a free estimate. We're not just here to hand you a report — we can help you get the issue resolved.

Question 9

Is the repair estimate really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If an inspection reveals a problem that needs repair, we provide a free estimate for the work. No obligation, no pressure — just honest information so you can make the best decision for your situation.

Question 10

What if the problem is on the utility company's side?

Accepted Answer

If our inspection reveals that the issue is located on the utility provider's side of the line — not on your private property — we won't just leave you to figure it out. We'll coordinate directly with the utility company on your behalf to help get the problem addressed.

Question 11

Can you clear a slow or blocked drain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you're dealing with a slow drain or backup, we can use the camera to diagnose the exact cause and clear the drain on site if needed. We identify the root cause first so you're not just treating symptoms.

Question 12

How do I schedule an inspection?

Accepted Answer

You can call or text us at 512-761-7323, or use the contact form on our website. We offer flexible scheduling and can often accommodate same-week appointments. For real estate transactions with tight timelines, let us know your closing date and we'll do our best to work around it.

Question 13

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve the greater Central Texas area including San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, New Braunfels, Lockhart, Seguin, Wimberley, and Austin. Not sure if we cover your area? Give us a call — if we can get there, we will.

Question 14

Do you work with real estate agents and home inspectors?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We work with real estate professionals throughout Central Texas on a regular basis. We understand the urgency of closing timelines, provide fast turnaround on reports, and can coordinate directly with buyers, sellers, or agents as needed. Repeat-client pricing is available for agents who refer clients regularly.
